Marlo, the 2010 American Pole Fitness Champion, and 2011 Aerial Pole International Champion, has 23 years of dance training, and is a Wilhelmina Fitness model. Her credits include commercials for Nike, L’oreal, and Sobe Adreniline Rush. She has performed with artists such as Diddy, Nelly, Pharell, Don Omar, and Fabulous on MTV and VH1. For the past 10 years, Marlo has been leading group exercise classes and has extensive knowledge of yoga anatomy and strength training.
Marlo started pole dancing about three years ago out of curiosity, and developed a style that draws from contemporary dance, yoga, hip-hop, dancehall, and acrobatics.
When Marlo is not performing, competing or teaching internationally, she trains and lives in New York City. She teaches at Body&Pole and is a Master Trainer for the X-pole X-pert certification program.
Class Description Aerial Showgirl:Onstage, a showgirl radiates energy, drips glamour, and steals the show. Offstage, she trains incessantly, drilling her moves, and perfecting her lines. But most importantly, a showgirl practices her presence. This worksop will focus on making the moves you already have (and some new ones) noteworthy, after doing some alterations to timing, placement, intention, and projection. Class will begin with a 30 minute warm-up that emphasizes breath, lines, facility and flexibility. This class is appropriate for students with a thorough knowledge of climbs and inversions.
